Service Description

Often called an energy audit or home energy evaluation—is a comprehensive evaluation of a home's energy efficiency. It is typically conducted by a certified energy advisor under Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) guidelines. Why It's Done: Identify where your home is losing energy. Recommend upgrades to improve comfort and reduce utility bills. Required to qualify for government rebates and grants (e.g., the Canada Greener Homes Grant). Adds value to your home and can help during resale. What It Includes: ✅ Pre-Retrofit Assessment: A registered energy advisor visits your home. Performs a blower door test to measure air leaks. Evaluates: Insulation levels (attic, basement, walls) Windows and doors Heating and cooling systems Ventilation systems Water heating systems You receive a Home Energy Report and an EnerGuide rating (a score showing your home’s energy performance). ✅ Post-Retrofit Assessment (optional but needed for rebates): Conducted after upgrades (like insulation, windows, or heat pumps). Verifies improvements and updates your EnerGuide score. Needed to claim government rebates (some up to $5,000+). EnerGuide Rating: Ranges from 0 (very inefficient) to 100 (net-zero energy home). Shows how your home compares to similar homes in your region.
